What is Main Street?

Main Street Burlington is a nonprofit organization working to promote the revitalization of your downtown using the model provided by the National Main Street Center. Main Street Burlington is a federally recognized volunteer-based 501 c(3) not-for-profit organization. Guided by a board of directors, Main Street Burlington assists existing businesses, helps new businesses establish themselves, acts as a vital liaison with the city administration, and promotes a positive image of your community as new interest, investment, and pride in your downtown is encouraged. Most of the work of Main Street is done by a committed group of talented volunteers, which enables us to achieve a great deal on a limited budget, so we need your help, too!

What does Main Street do?
  • Provides design consultations to property owners and merchants to improve the appearance and customer appeal of their establishments

  • Organizes or assists promotional events that draw hundreds of people to town, including the long-established Wood Street Fair, the Festival of the Lights, and more

  • Keeps residents and merchants informed about downtown developments and issues through personal visits, press releases, and our newsletter, the Main Street Outlook

  • Offers free advertising to local businesses through the program’s website

Main Street Burlington is an officially designated Main Street Community by the State of New Jersey. Because of this relationship, we have many opportunities and incentives for existing downtown businesses and for new businesses who wish to locate here. Please contact us today to find out more.
